Electrician Sentenced to 8 Months for Phone Theft
In a recent court proceeding at Pademba Road Court No. 6 in Freetown, 27-year-old electrician Emmanuel Conteh faced charges of larceny for stealing a Tecno Spark 7 mobile phone valued at 2,500 Leones from Idrissa Jalloh in Congo Town, Western Freetown, on April 1, 2024.
Conteh, upon hearing the charges, pleaded guilty before Magistrate Peter Brima Gogra. The prosecution, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Marie Sesay, confirmed no prior records of offences against Conteh.
Unrepresented by legal counsel, Conteh appealed to the court for leniency during sentencing. Considering his plea, Magistrate Gogra sentenced him to eight months imprisonment at the male correctional facility in Freetown.
