The Convict was before the court on a count charge of Larceny contrary to section 2 of the larceny Act of 1916.
The indictment states that the convict on Wednesday 20th August 2025 at Lumley in Freetown, Stole one Bajaj motorbike with registration number AXD 509 valued at thirty three thousand six hundred and eight Leones(33,608), property of Abu Marrah.
Convict Koroma had earlier pleaded guilty to the offense and further pleaded for justice to be tempered with mercy.
Magistrate Briama Jah, before sentencing him, said the convict has pleaded for mercy, but he would not give an alternative sentence and will impose a custodian sentence on him on the grounds that the convict is not a first time offender.
He said the convict has been in prison for a certain offence and was serving a jail term of eight years imprisonment, but escaped as a result of the prison break.
Magistrate Jah further stated that convict Koroma was on the run and they were looking for him but had not seen him until he committed this offence, for which he is standing trial before him.
