Judge Demands Death Certificate Of Defendant

Justice Mark Ngegba of the Freetown High Court number 8, on Monday 19 January 2026, ordered the State Prosecutor, Alpha Jalloh, to produce the death certificate of twenty two (22) year old Zainab Mansaray, who was dragged to court for possession of drugs without lawful authority.

Zainab Mansaray, a housewife, was charged with a count of unlawful Possession of drugs contrary to section 8(a) of the national drugs control Act 2008, Act No.10 of 2008.

According to the indictment, Zainab, on the 31st of October 2025, at Freetown, was found in possession of eight wraps of kush weighing 30.0grams without lawful authority.

During proceedings, State Prosecutor Alpah Jalloh informed the court that the defendant, Zainab Manasary, has passed away, but that he has not received her death certificate to show the court.

Justice Mark Ngegba strictly warned the Prosecutor that he should produce the death certificate of Zainab Mansaray on the next adjourned date.

The matter comes up on the 21 January 2026 .
