As APC Continues Boycott… SLPP Plans Take Over Bid Of FCC
The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), under National Chairman, Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa, has initiated urgent steps to restore governance in Freetown following a high-level meeting with the Ministry of Works and Public Assets on Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
The move follows the continued boycott by Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr and APC councillors, which they say has stalled council operations and disrupted service delivery.
Engaging with Works Minister, Dr. Denis Sandi, SLPP leadership emphasized immediate intervention to prevent total administrative collapse.
The party is now mobilizing its councillors and state institutions to maintain operations, signaling a decisive effort to fill the leadership vacuum and ensure services continue despite the ongoing political standoff.
