LPP’s Goal… Pastor Samuel Kamara Commits To Transform Sierra Leone

A new chapter in Sierra Leone’s political landscape was opened on Saturday, August 8, 2026, as Pastor Mohamed Samuel Kamara (MSK), Chairman and Leader of the Liberation People’s Party (LPP), officially launched the party at the Freetown International Conference Centre, Bintumani, Aberdeen.
The launch brought together party supporters, young people, community stakeholders, religious leaders, members of the diaspora and invited local and international guests, as the LPP presented itself to the nation under its rallying call: “Power to the Youths! Power to the People!”
Addressing supporters, Pastor Kamara said the formation of the LPP represents more than the establishment of another political party. He described it as a movement seeking to give Sierra Leoneans, particularly young people, women and underserved communities, a stronger voice in shaping the country’s future.
“This is not just about forming another political party. This is about building a new generation of leadership and giving our people hope that Sierra Leone can rise beyond its present challenges,” Kamara said.
From Ministry and Humanitarian Service to National Politics
Pastor Mohamed Samuel Kamara has built much of his public profile through Christian ministry, humanitarian activities and youth-focused initiatives. His entry into national politics, he said, was inspired by his desire to expand that service and contribute to addressing some of Sierra Leone’s longstanding social and economic challenges.
During the launch, Kamara spoke about the struggles confronting ordinary Sierra Leoneans, including youth unemployment, drug abuse, poverty, corruption, inadequate opportunities, poor infrastructure and the need for greater accountability in public service.
He argued that Sierra Leone’s large youth population should not be viewed merely as a political voting bloc, but as a national resource capable of driving development when provided with education, skills, employment and meaningful opportunities.
“Our young people are not the problem of Sierra Leone; they can become the solution to Sierra Leone,” he said.
International Guests Show Support
The launch also attracted international attention. His Excellency Dr. Jude Elie, Presidential candidate from Haiti, was in Freetown, Sierra Leone, to support his brother, Pastor Mohamed Samuel Kamara, during the historic launch of the Liberation People’s Party.
Dr. Elie joined an entourage that included representatives associated with the White House Prayer initiative, alongside international delegates and investors who were also in Sierra Leone for engagements connected to the occasion.
Their presence added an international dimension to the launch and reflected Pastor Kamara’s growing network of relationships beyond Sierra Leone.
A Youth-Centred Political Movement
The LPP says youth empowerment will remain at the heart of its political agenda, as the party builds its structures ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Kamara stressed, however, that the LPP should not be seen as a movement exclusively for young people. He called for cooperation among generations, arguing that Sierra Leone needs the experience and wisdom of older citizens alongside the energy, creativity and innovation of its younger generation.
The party also intends to promote women’s participation, education and skills development, agriculture, job creation, technology, improved infrastructure, stronger institutions and measures aimed at fighting corruption and improving transparency.
According to Kamara, political leadership must move beyond speeches and election-season promises and focus on measurable improvements in people’s lives.
“Politics Must Be About Nation-Building”
Kamara told supporters that his understanding of politics extends beyond winning elections.
For him, politics must ultimately be about nation-building, strengthening areas of weakness, protecting what the country has achieved, bridging existing gaps and introducing new ideas capable of moving Sierra Leone forward.
He called for peaceful political engagement, and urged LPP supporters to respect people belonging to other political parties.
“We are not here to create enemies,” he said. “We are here to present an alternative vision and allow the people of Sierra Leone to decide their future through the democratic process.”
The LPP Chairman also emphasised national unity, insisting that political differences should never be allowed to divide Sierra Leoneans along regional, tribal or religious lines.
LPP Momentum Continues to Grow
Since the August 8 launch, the Liberation People’s Party has continued its engagements across Sierra Leone, with Pastor Kamara meeting supporters, young people, traditional leaders and community stakeholders in different parts of the country.
Party officials say the momentum behind the LPP continues to grow as its message reaches new communities and more Sierra Leoneans become engaged with the movement.
For Kamara, the journey toward 2028 will involve taking the LPP’s message directly to the people, listening to communities and developing policies around the challenges citizens want the country’s next generation of leaders to address.
He maintains that his political ambition is driven by a conviction that Sierra Leone can achieve greater economic opportunity, accountable leadership and inclusive national development.
Pastor Kamara Expected in the United States During UN General Assembly Period
As part of his continued international engagements, Pastor Mohamed Samuel Kamara is expected to be in the United States from September 13 to September 23, 2026, during the period of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
During his time in the United States, Pastor Kamara will be available for networking and engagements with interested stakeholders, members of the diaspora, development partners, investors and other individuals interested in dialogue concerning Sierra Leone and the vision of the Liberation People’s Party.
As the purple and white colours of the Liberation People’s Party become increasingly visible in Sierra Leone’s political space, the August 8 launch marked the beginning of what the party describes as a long-term campaign for generational change.
Pastor Mohamed Samuel Kamara ended his message with the words that have become the LPP’s political rallying cry:
