NASSIT Holds 21st Annual Thanksgiving Service at Jamiul Salaam Mosque
On Friday, January 12, 2024, NASSIT celebrated its 21st Annual Thanksgiving Service at Jamiul Salaam Mosque on Third Street, Mountain Court, Freetown.
Chief Imam Ahmad Owolabie Tjan extended a warm welcome to all attendees, including NASSIT Director General Fuad Daaboh, on this blessed Friday. He acknowledged NASSIT’s decade-long commitment to serving the citizens through pension benefits, providing financial support to those who retire or the families of contributors in the event of death. Chief Tjan explained the contribution structure, highlighting that employers contribute 10% while employees contribute 5% to NASSIT.
He praised NASSIT’s essential role, emphasizing that such services align with Allah’s teachings, especially in securing a future when individuals have no means. Chief Tjan congratulated NASSIT on its 21st Annual Thanksgiving Service, noting that gratitude for blessings is an integral part of Islamic faith.
Director General Fuad Daaboh, expressing his identity as a true Muslim and believer, stressed the importance of trustworthiness when entrusted with responsibilities. He emphasized NASSIT’s commitment to fulfilling the trust placed in them by providing pension and contingency benefits.

He shared that his connection with Jamiul Salaam Mosque was not new, as he had been a regular attendee for prayers.
