In the heart of Freetown, the Wharf community is grappling with a humanitarian crisis. Residents are facing dire living conditions, with inadequate access to clean water, sanitation, and electricity. The area is prone to flooding, and homes are at risk of collapse, leaving families in constant fear.

“I don’t know how much more we can take,” said Fatmata Kamara, a mother of four. “Our children are sick, and we have no place to go. The government has forgotten about us.”

The Wharf is home to hundreds of families, many of whom are low-income earners or fishermen struggling to make ends meet. The lack of basic services has led to health concerns, with cholera outbreaks a recurring issue.

Residents are calling on the government to address their problems, citing the need for improved infrastructure, healthcare, and social support. “We need help, now,” said Abdul Johnson, a local youth leader.

The crisis in the Wharf is a ticking time bomb, with residents living in squalor and fear. Will the authorities listen?
