Public Service Commission Chair Dragged 3 to Court
Kalilu Amara Bah Chairman Public Service Commission has on Friday 20th September 2024 drag to court Ibrahim Jaffason Kamara, Sahr Abu Bockarie and Abdulai Sankoh for allegedly stealing assorted items from his resident to the tune of NLe 167,500 .
The accused persons were arraigned before Magistrate Santigie Bangura of Pademba road court No2 on Three counts charges of Conspiracy contrary to law, House breaking and larceny contrary to section 26)1) of the larceny Act 1916 and Receiving stolen goods.
According to the indictments, the accused person Ibrahim Jaffason Kamara and Sahr Abu Bockarie on Friday 2nd August 2024 at Cordialia drive, Regent road Lumley Freetown conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a crime to wit house breaking and larceny.
The police further alleged that the first and second accused on the same dates and place with intent to Steal, broke and entered into the dwelling house of Kalilu Amara Bah and stole therein assorted building materials to the total value of Nle 167,500 property of the said complainant.
It was further alleged that, the third accused Abdulia Sankoh on the same date received 3 wooden panel doors to the total value of Nle 30,000 property of the complainant knowing same to have been stolen.
When the charges were read and explained to the accused persons no plea was taken
Prosecutor DSP Sorie Conteh informed the Court that the complainant was absent and therefore could not proceed with the matter in the circumstance requested for and adjournment.
Defense counsel for the third accused Abdulia Sankoh applied for bail on his behalf, adding that her client spent over one week at the police station, her application was made pursuant to section 79 sub section 2 of the criminal procedure act 1965.
The prosecutor however opposed to bail due to the serious nature of the offences charge.
Magistrate Bangura however granted bail to the accused persons, adding that it should be approved by the Deputy Acting Registrar and adjourned the matter to the 7th October 2024.
